Restylane®
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is an FDA-approved dermal filler substance used to treat
bothersome wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds and smile lines as
well as for lip enhancement and lip augmentation. The active
ingredient of Restylane® is hyaluronic acid, a molecule naturally
occurring in our skin.
When will I need a touch-up treatment?
These products usually last up to 6 months, but most
patients enjoy their enhanced appearance and have touch-up
treatments every 4 months or so as needed.
How will I look after the treatment?
Results after Restylane® injection are immediate with minimal to
no reaction in the skin. Wrinkles and folds are immediately improved
but there may be some swelling for a few hours and a bruise that may
last a few days. Lips usually become swollen for up to 2 days and
may bruise.
